Ontex Group NV, a leading developer and manufacturer of hygiene products and solutions for retailers and healthcare, has entered into a binding agreement to sell its Algerian business to Hygianis SPA, its local distributor for more than 20 years. 
 
Ontex’s business in Algeria generated about €50 million sales in 2022.
 
Kao Corporation has ceased production of disposable baby diapers in Hefei, Anhui, China.
 
In its latest round of earnings results, the Japanese company announced that sales of its Merries baby diapers had decreased due to market shrinkage and intensifying competition in China. Sales remained steady in Japan and Indonesia. Kao also announced it would review its Japanese facilities.
